We create unique experiences that change lives and bring people back. We do this by loving and serving people, by preparing top-notch handcrafted food and beverages, and by creating an environment where real relationships are fostered.
Anthem came into existence on 11.1.11. The 5 years of being in the coffee industry, leading up to the launch of Anthem, served as a testing and training ground for what we would become. During that time we established our culture and customer service style. To be honest with you, the beverages that we serve are only secondary to the heroic hospitality and exceptional customer service we have come to be known for. Ask anyone and they’ll tell you why they continue to come back day after day. Yeah, the coffee is great, but it’s the people (The Anthem Team) that keep the people coming back!
Everything about Anthem - from the barstools to the baristas - is consistent with our vision to create a place where people can share life together over handcrafted food and beverages.
Since 2006, our flagship location in downtown Puyallup has been a community hub for locals, creatives and entrepreneurs. We’ve now spread the Anthem love to Tacoma with a store nestled in the heart of the UW Tacoma campus and Downtown Museum District.
We’re called Anthem because we encourage others to “Live Loud” and live passionately in all they do. This has been part of our DNA from the very beginning, in ways both zany and inspiring. Regulars know that waiting in line at Anthem is always entertaining when “The Megaphone” is at full volume.
When a barista grabs the bullhorn, be prepared for anything from a greeting in Shakespearean English to a live reading of Kanye’s Twitter feed. We like to laugh here. We’ve also created an environment where new friends, customers and staff can connect, collaborate and share their stories, art and music. Bands have formed at Anthem, creative partnerships have been made, and there have even been a few good romances in the mix (we’re a sucker for those). Stop by, have a sip and tell us about your anthem.
